Youth Voices For Mental Health
Mental Health Colorado is the state’s leading advocate in promoting mental wellness, ending shame and fear surrounding mental health, and ensuring access to mental health and substance use care.
Mental Health Colorado believes young people’s voices matter, especially when it comes to mental health. We want your students to be a part of a video project we are putting together to be shown at our 2020 Legislative Education and Advocacy Day.
We’re asking Coloradans under 21 to answer the question, “Why does mental health matter to you?”
Participants will record their answers on a mobile device or tablet “selfie style” in 60 seconds or less. We will then use different videos from young people across Colorado to produce a 5-minute video of kids discussing why mental health matters.
We would LOVE your participation and support! Please share with students you know and get as many young Coloradans to share their thoughts as you can!
We are asking for videos and attached consent forms to be submitted by Wednesday, Feb. 12, however, we will still accept videos after the deadline.
Videos without a signed consent form will not be used, so please have students’ legal guardians fill those out and they can be sent back with the video.
Please let me or our Communications Director, Aubree Hughes, know if you have any questions. When you are ready to submit your video, email it to ahughes@mentalhealthcolorado.org If the file is too large to email, let Aubree know and she will send further instructions.
