At Mental Health Colorado, we can’t endorse candidates, but we can ask them where they stand. We want all Colorado voters to be confident that their leaders will guide them in the right direction when it comes to mental health and substance use conditions.
We asked candidates running for the state legislature what priorities they have in order to support the mental health of the population they seek to represent.

Click hereMental Health Colorado’s Positions on State Ballot Measures:
Proposition FF: Healthy School Meals for All – SUPPORT – Access to school meals improves academic and health outcomes for children, is a fundamental social determinant of health, and in alignment with our commitment to providing a strong start for all children.
Proposition 121: State Income Tax Reduction—OPPOSE—This miniscule savings for 75% of taxpayers will reduce General Fund available for state government operations by nearly half a billion dollars. Less than 1% of taxpayers (with incomes over $1 million) would receive nearly half the proposed tax savings. Reducing General Fund puts access to care, supports, and services at risk.
Proposition 122: Access to Natural Psychedelic Substances—MONITOR— Though Mental Health Colorado is generally disposed to favor access to plant-based medicines and decriminalization as harm reduction, we have questions related to how this measure proposes to regulate access to care and access to the substances, and to how certain substances may interact with mental health vulnerabilities. Studies have shown that certain natural psychedelic substances which this measure would decriminalize, combined with counseling, may provide effective treatment for server depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The FDA has found that psychedelic mushrooms may offer substantial improvement in treating depression more successfully than existing therapies.
Proposition 123: Dedicate Revenue for Affordable Housing Programs—SUPPORT—Housing is fundamental to human health and well-being, and affordable housing is scarce.
Proposition 124: Increase Allowable Liquor Store Locations—OPPOSE—Alcohol is the most harmful substance available, and it is already widely available. We see no sense in increasing its availability.
Proposition 125: Allow Grocery and Convenience Stores to Sell Wine—OPPOSE— Alcohol is the most harmful substance available, and it is already widely available. We see no sense in increasing its availability.
Proposition 126: Third-Party Delivery of Alcohol Beverages—OPPOSE— Alcohol is the most harmful substance available, and it is already widely available. We see no sense in increasing its availability.
