THE ROSENBERRY CONFERENCE: TRENDS IN YOUTH SUICIDE PREVENTION

This course will offer opportunities to increase competence, understanding, and skills in suicide prevention. Specifically, the course will focus on ways to strengthen organizational practices to mitigate suicide risk, how behavioral health providers can advocate for the children and youth they serve, and options for intervening on the individual level to support resilience in young people.
Upon completion of this conference, participants should be
able to:
- Identify child and adolescent suicide risk, including suicide
rates, risk factors, protective factors and warning signs. - Outline evidence-based management of suicidal ideation
and behavior in children and adolescents. - Discuss potential changes to organizational practice
guidelines for the assessment and treatment of suicidal
youth. - Describe Colorado’s legislative process, ideas and
opportunities for advocating on child health policy issues
and updates on current mental health policy issues.
