RE-2 Superintendent Mike Epright and all 51 of his employees spent their first day back at work learning how to spot the signs of a mental health disorder and how to respond appropriately. Tri-County Health Network, which provided the training, said the school district may be the first in the state to make such a commitment. We hope it’s not the last. If approved by Summit County voters in November, the measure would raise about $8.8 million per year through a 4.7 mill property tax – a cost of about $2.83 per month per $100,000 of residential property value. "There are several significant challenges that the Summit County community is facing, and we just don't have the resources to tackle them like we should," County Commissioner Karn Stiegelmeier ...

Northern Colorado mental and behavioral health facility headed back to voters

By: Saja Hindi July 24, 2018 Dozens packed the Larimer County Commissioners hearing room Tuesday. As commenter after commenter took the microphone, continuous pleas were made for the commissioners to allow voters to reconsider a ballot initiative they said was vital to the community — a tax to fund a new mental and behavioral health facility. During his turn to speak, Loveland resident Bob Massaro turned around and asked how many people in the audience knew someone who either died by suicide or attempted suicide. Almost every hand in the room went up. Larimer County commissioners on Tuesday unanimously agreed to refer the question to the ...

Aside from meetings and discussions, a mapping project ...
