Law enforcement appreciation day set for Saturday; event inspired by negative climate surrounding police

Betty Nufer has been well aware of the negative perception some have had of cops recently and felt the urge to do something about it to show that there are plenty of people in the community who back law enforcement.

So she has.

Nufer, a regional program coordinator for Mental Health Colorado, recently sent out emails about an idea for an event to support law enforcement to numerous nonprofits and different organizations in town.

Her email was answered by Dawn Yengich, the marketing and public relations manager for Health Solutions, and the two have partnered to plan and host a Law Enforcement Appreciation Day that is scheduled for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Health Solutions medical campus parking lot, 41 Montebello Road. Read more…
