MENTAL HEALTH COLORADO TAKING QUESTIONS FOR STATE OF MENTAL HEALTH GUBERNATORIAL FORUM
By: Trevor Reid, Greeley Tribune —
Mental Health Colorado will hold its first forum on mental health and substance use disorders with Colorado’s gubernatorial candidates Friday in Denver.
The organization encourages anyone with questions for the candidates to email deargovernor@mentalhealthcolorado.org. Questions will be accepted until Monday.
Candidates will answer questions from students, Mental Health Colorado staff and event attendees. Andrew Romanoff, CEO and president of Mental Health Colorado, said they hope youth, in particular, will send their questions as a way to engage, even if they’re too young to vote.
“Kids have the most at stake in this election, and really in any election, in the sense that they’re going to be around the longest,” Romanoff said.
Nine of the 12 candidates have confirmed they will attend the forum from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Though the event takes place in Denver, Romanoff said Mental Health Colorado will upload the forum to its website, https://www.mentalhealthcolorado.org. Romanoff said the number of participating candidates could increase as they work to get the final three candidates.
“There are so many people running for governor, we might not have a big enough stage,” Romanoff said with a laugh.
